Riyadh: King Salman Global Academy for Arabic Language Wraps Up Successful Arabic Language Month in India

The King Salman Global Academy for Arabic Language recently concluded a month-long celebration of Arabic Language Month in New Delhi and Kerala, India, leaving a lasting impact on the promotion of Arabic education in the country.

Throughout the month of July, the academy organized a series of scientific programs and events in partnership with educational institutions aimed at enhancing Arabic language curricula, improving teacher performance, and emphasizing the importance of the language in India.

Exciting activities included engaging visits and meetings with prestigious institutions such as Jawaharlal Nehru University, Kerala University, and other Indian universities offering Arabic programs, as well as associations dedicated to teaching Arabic. The delegation also had the opportunity to visit the Saudi Embassy in New Delhi.

The highlight of the event was the thought-provoking panel discussions on various topics such as evaluating Arabic teachers for non-Arabic speakers, integrating technology into education, and designing effective teaching programs. A scientific symposium also took place to delve into Saudi Arabia’s efforts in teaching Arabic to non-speakers and the current landscape of Arabic education in India.

Four courses were conducted during the month to enhance the skills of Arabic teachers for non-speakers, focusing on modern teaching strategies. Additionally, learners had the opportunity to participate in courses that targeted reading comprehension and listening skills for non-native Arabic speakers.

Abdullah Al-Washmi, the academy’s secretary-general, expressed his satisfaction with the event, stating that it successfully showcased the academy’s dedication to teaching Arabic to non-native speakers and highlighted Saudi Arabia’s commitment to promoting Arabic globally. He emphasized the importance of training teachers, improving their abilities, and enhancing the learning experience for students.

The academy has previously organized similar initiatives in countries such as Brazil, Uzbekistan, Indonesia, and China. Al-Washmi emphasized that the Arabic Language Month in India underscored the academy’s crucial role in advancing projects related to Arabic education for non-speakers and strengthening collaborations with organizations dedicated to teaching Arabic beyond Saudi Arabia’s borders.
