Saudi Industrial Authority MODON Signs Contracts Worth Over SR1 Billion

Riyadh: The Saudi Authority for Industrial Cities and Technology Zones, also known as MODON, has inked nine contracts valued at more than SR1 billion ($266.5 million) with private sector companies to enhance service facilities and infrastructure in various industrial hubs.

Major Projects in the Pipeline

In a recent update on X, MODON showcased the projects secured by its CEO, Majed Al-Argoubi. These projects include the development of infrastructure networks in Makkah’s industrial city, the completion of initial infrastructure phases in Jeddah’s Third Industrial City, and the construction of 132-kilovolt overhead power lines to improve electrical services in Tabuk’s industrial city.

Private-Public Partnerships Driving Investments

The collaboration between the private and public sectors has played a crucial role in attracting significant investments to Saudi Arabia. While the names of the companies awarded the contracts and their values remain undisclosed, MODON also revealed plans for upcoming projects, such as the development of 115-kV overhead power lines in Hafr Al-Batin’s industrial city and the enhancement of infrastructure networks in Dammam’s Third Industrial City.

Expanding Services Across Industrial Hubs

Construction and implementation of essential services are set to take place in the second industrial cities of Jeddah, Tabuk, and Hafr Al-Batin, as MODON continues to prioritize the development and enhancement of industrial infrastructure across the Kingdom.

Strategic Partnerships for Growth

In June, Saudia Dairy and Foodstuff Co., a key player in the Kingdom’s food sector, signed a long-term lease contract with MODON for a warehouse in Jazan spanning over 15,000 sq. meters. This partnership was announced at the Saudi Food Show in Riyadh, with the agreement signed by Talal Al-Nounou, SADAFCO’s Director of Public Relations and Government Relations, and the MODON CEO.

Driving Economic Growth and Sustainability

Since its establishment in 2001, MODON has been at the forefront of developing and overseeing industrial lands and infrastructure in Saudi Arabia. With 36 industrial cities under its management, both operational and under development, as well as private industrial cities and complexes, MODON continues to drive economic growth and sustainability across the Kingdom. In the second quarter of 2024 alone, MODON attracted over SR3.4 billion in private sector investments, signed 142 new industrial contracts, and registered a total of 6,758 factories, showcasing its commitment to fostering industrial development in Saudi Arabia.
