Saudi Workforce to Receive 20% Boost in Financial Support for Municipal and Housing Sectors

In a groundbreaking move, the Ministry of Municipalities and Housing, in partnership with the Human Resources Development Fund, has announced a significant increase in financial aid for nearly 98 jobs and activities within the municipal and housing sectors in Saudi Arabia.

Empowering Saudi Nationals Through Enhanced Employment Support Program

The Employment Support Program will now see a 20% increase in financial aid, raising the percentage from 30% to 50% for 53 professions and 45 activities. This generous adjustment comes with a maximum limit of SR3,000 ($800) and is aimed at providing well-trained and qualified workers for the sector, promoting localization, and boosting the participation of Saudi nationals in the workforce.

Aligning with Vision 2030 Goals

This move is in line with Vision 2030 goals to diversify the economy and enhance employment opportunities for Saudis. The Ministry of Municipalities and Housing, along with the Ministry of Human Resources and Social Development, is committed to creating engaging and productive job opportunities for citizens throughout the Kingdom.

Prioritizing Localization of Engineering Professions

The decision to localize 25% of engineering professions in private sector establishments employing five or more workers is already in effect as of July 21. This policy aims to ensure that the labor market meets the specific needs of engineering professions and aligns with market requirements.

Incentives and Support Programs for Private Sector Establishments

Private sector establishments will benefit from various incentives and support programs offered by the human resources and social development system to aid in hiring Saudis. These programs include recruitment and job-matching assistance, essential training and qualifications, and ongoing employment support. Establishments will have priority access to all available localization and employment support programs through HRDF.

Compliance with Localization Requirements

The Ministry of Human Resources and Social Development has issued a procedural guide outlining the localization requirements and necessary percentages. Establishments must comply with these regulations to avoid non-compliance penalties and contribute to the overall goal of empowering the Saudi national workforce.
