In a series of recent operations, Saudi authorities have made significant arrests and confiscations in their ongoing battle against drug smuggling, as reported by the Saudi Press Agency on Monday.

Border Guard Patrols Make Major Busts in Al-Dayer and Al-Ardah Governorates

Border Guard land patrols in Al-Dayer governorate, Jazan region, successfully apprehended seven individuals from Ethiopia and Yemen who were attempting to smuggle a whopping 115 kg of qat. Meanwhile, in Jazan’s Al-Ardah governorate, patrols intercepted and thwarted the smuggling of 140 kg of the illicit substance.

General Directorate of Narcotics Control Cracks Down on Drug Dealers

The General Directorate of Narcotics Control made significant arrests in various regions of the Kingdom. In the Northern Borders region, a citizen was apprehended for selling amphetamine, while two individuals in the Eastern Province were caught in possession of 6.8 kg of hashish. Additionally, in Asir, another citizen was arrested for selling and smuggling a staggering 205 kg of qat.

All suspects have undergone preliminary legal procedures, and all confiscated items have been handed over to the relevant authorities for further investigation.
