National Water Co. Launches Ambitious Water and Sanitation Projects in Asir Region

The National Water Co. has unveiled plans for 25 groundbreaking water and sanitation projects in the picturesque Asir region, according to a report by the Saudi Press Agency on Tuesday.

Aiming to revolutionize water infrastructure, these projects will involve the construction of pipelines and networks spanning a whopping 1,481 km, with a budget totaling an impressive SR960 million ($256 million).

“We have embarked on 25 transformative projects in the Asir region to elevate water and environmental service coverage,” the company boldly stated.

Among these projects are 23 ambitious water initiatives strategically located in the vibrant city of Abha and various governorates. These projects are set to provide sustainable drinking water to diverse neighborhoods and villages.

The scope of these projects includes the installation of 1,410 km of pipelines and networks, as well as the construction of 19 tanks with a combined capacity of 109,350 cubic meters, with a total cost of SR907 million.

In addition to these water projects, the company is also spearheading two crucial sewage projects in Khamis Mushayt. These projects will extend pipelines and networks over a remarkable 71 km, with a budget of SR53 million.

These groundbreaking initiatives are in alignment with Saudi Vision 2030, a visionary roadmap aimed at enhancing the efficiency and quality of the water and environmental sectors.
