Riyadh Hosts Fourth Industrial Revolution Applications Hackathon

More than 400 innovators and creators gathered in Riyadh for the launch of the “Fourth Industrial Revolution Applications Hackathon” on Thursday. The event, organized by the Ministry of Communications and Information Technology (MICT) in collaboration with the National Industry Development and Logistics Program, aims to develop innovative technical solutions in industry, energy, mining, and logistics services.

The hackathon focuses on the importance of utilizing 4IR technologies in innovative ways, allowing participants to learn how to apply these technologies in developing new solutions. Over 50 experts and specialists are also involved as resource persons, facilitators, and mentors in various workshops organized for the event.

During the opening ceremony, Ibrahim Al-Nasser, the MICT’s deputy minister for future capabilities and jobs, emphasized the significance of adopting 4IR technologies in innovative ways. He highlighted the hackathon’s goal of providing a stimulating environment for learning, cooperation, and idea exchange, expressing confidence in the participants’ ability to contribute to transforming the Kingdom into a global platform for innovation and development.

The first day of the hackathon featured interactive workshops aimed at preparing participants and guiding them towards creating new solutions that enhance the use of technologies with innovative ideas and methods.
