US Braces for Debby as Saudi Embassy Issues Urgent Weather Alert

Saudi Embassy Urges Citizens to Stay Cautious After Hurricane Debby

In a bold move, the Saudi Embassy in the US has issued a stern warning to its citizens in the wake of Hurricane Debby, which has now been downgraded to a tropical depression. The embassy is not taking any chances and is urging all Saudi citizens to remain vigilant during this tumultuous time.

State of Emergency Declared in Affected States

The aftermath of Hurricane Debby has prompted several states to declare a state of emergency, with South Carolina, North Carolina, Virginia, and Washington, D.C. being particularly at risk. The embassy is urging its citizens in these states to follow the instructions of local authorities and take all necessary precautions to ensure their safety.

Debby’s Remnants Threaten US Mid-Atlantic

Despite being downgraded, the remnants of Hurricane Debby continue to wreak havoc as they move through the US mid-Atlantic towards New England. Heavy rains are expected to cause flash flooding from Maryland to Vermont, posing a significant threat to residents in the affected areas.

The US National Weather Service has issued flood warnings and tornado watches for a vast region stretching from coastal Georgia to Vermont. The storm is moving northeast at an alarming speed of 56 km per hour, much faster than earlier projections.

As of late Friday morning, the storm, now a post-tropical depression, was located near the border of central Pennsylvania and New York state. Despite its weakened state, Debby has already unleashed up to 63cm of rain and claimed the lives of at least eight individuals during its slow and destructive march north.
