Meet Dr. Shadi Badawood: Najran University’s New Official Spokesperson
Dr. Shadi Badawood, a seasoned academic and communication professional with a wealth of experience in both the government and private sectors, has recently been appointed as the official spokesperson for Najran University.
The announcement of his appointment was made by the university’s president, Abdulrahman Al-Khudairi.
Badawood currently serves as an assistant professor in the marketing department at the university’s prestigious Business Administration College. He was also appointed as the director of corporate communications in 2023.
Throughout his nearly two-decade career, Badawood has held various notable positions. He started as the editor-in-chief of Business Horizons magazine at the University of Business and Technology in 2003. Subsequently, he took on roles involving media supplements and marketing administration at Okaz newspaper, served as a media consultant for Saudi students’ clubs in the UK, and chaired the Transforming Journey Initiative for Saudi students globally.
Moreover, Badawood has a track record of publishing magazines for esteemed institutions such as the Saudi Cultural Mission in the UK, Ebsar Foundation, and Oxford Academy in Jeddah.
With a Ph.D. in media engagement (marketing) from the University of Hull, Badawood’s academic prowess is evident. During the 2016/2017 academic year, he led the Hull Public Speaking Society at the University of Hull in the UK, where the club was honored with the Society of the Year award.
In addition to his academic and professional achievements, Badawood is also a published author with two books to his name: “The Power of One” and “Outdoor Ethics.”
