Saudi Arabia and Spain Discuss Deepening Mining Cooperation

In a strategic meeting held in London, Saudi Arabia’s Minister of Industry and Mineral Resources, Bandar Alkhorayef, and Spanish Minister of State for Energy, Sara Aagesen Munoz, came together to discuss ways to enhance mining cooperation between their two nations.

The discussion, attended by Saudi Ambassador to Spain, Princess Haifa bint Abdulaziz bin Ayyaf Al Muqrin, centered on attracting Spanish mining companies to invest in Saudi Arabia’s rapidly growing mining sector.

Alkhorayef emphasized the longstanding partnership between Saudi Arabia and Spain, highlighting the strong economic and trade relations that have flourished over time.

Spain was singled out as a crucial partner in Saudi Arabia’s endeavors to expand its industrial and mining sectors, with Alkhorayef expressing confidence in the potential for increased collaboration in these fields.

The Minister also shed light on Saudi Arabia’s Vision 2030, underlining the importance of key sectors like industry, mining, energy, and logistics in achieving the nation’s ambitious goals. Mining, in particular, was identified as a cornerstone of the Kingdom’s economic transformation.

Alkhorayef extended a warm invitation to foreign investors, stressing the attractive opportunities waiting for international companies in Saudi Arabia. He urged Spanish firms to explore the untapped potential in the Kingdom’s mining sector, citing various government initiatives in place to support its growth.

The meeting concluded with both parties reiterating their dedication to strengthening bilateral ties and seeking out new avenues for collaboration within the mining industry.
