Saudi and Japanese Ambassadors Meet to Strengthen Bilateral Relations

In a warm exchange at the Saudi Embassy in Tokyo, Saudi Arabia’s ambassador to Japan, Ghazi bin Faisal bin Zagr, greeted the newly appointed Japanese ambassador to the Kingdom, Morino Yasunari.

The two ambassadors engaged in discussions about the enduring and dynamic relationship between Saudi Arabia and Japan, exploring opportunities to deepen collaboration across various sectors.

Ambassador Bin Zagr conveyed his best wishes for Ambassador Morino’s success in his new role, while also expressing hopes for a pleasant and productive stay in the Kingdom.

Ambassador Morino’s appointment holds special significance as Saudi Arabia and Japan approach the milestone of their 70th anniversary of diplomatic relations in 2025.

In addition to this meeting, Bin Zagr met with Chairman of the Japan-Middle East/Africa Relations Committee Keizai Doyukai to strategize on enhancing investment and innovation partnerships between Japan, Saudi Arabia, and other countries in the region.

Both sides emphasized the importance of fostering stronger connections to support sustainable economic growth and development in the Middle East and Africa.

Prior to his current role as Japan’s ambassador to Saudi Arabia, Morino served as the Japanese ambassador to Kuwait, where he focused on strengthening economic and diplomatic ties, particularly in energy and environmental cooperation.

Morino’s work in Kuwait included initiatives in hydrogen and ammonia technology as part of Japan’s commitment to carbon neutrality, showcasing his broader vision for enhancing Japan’s collaborations in the Middle East.
