Saudi Arabia Takes Lead in Arab Condemnation of Iran Military Strikes – Urges Restraint & Peace

Saudi Arabia Condemns Military Targeting of Iran

Saudi Arabia strongly criticized the military targeting of Iran, labeling it as a violation of Tehran’s sovereignty and a breach of international laws and norms, according to state news agency SPA.

The Kingdom called on all parties involved to exercise utmost restraint and work towards de-escalation, emphasizing the severe consequences prolonged military confrontations could have on the region.

Saudi Arabia reaffirmed its unwavering stance against the escalating tensions in the region and the growing conflicts that pose a threat to the security and stability of neighboring countries.

It urged the international community to fulfill their responsibilities in promoting peace, reducing tensions, and supporting efforts to end conflicts in the Middle East.

 

 

The UAE also joined in condemning the targeting of Iran and emphasized the importance of exercising “maximum restraint” to prevent escalation.

In an official statement, the UAE Ministry of Foreign Affairs underlined the significance of diplomatic channels as the optimal approach to de-escalate tensions, urging parties to move away from confrontation and escalation.

Palestinian Islamist movement Hamas, currently engaged in conflict with Israel in Gaza, strongly denounced Israeli strikes on military targets in Iran.

“We… condemn in the strongest terms the Zionist aggression against the Islamic Republic of Iran, and the targeting of military sites in several provinces,” the movement said in a statement, calling the move “a blatant violation of Iranian sovereignty and an escalation that threatens the security of the region.”

Qatar’s foreign ministry also condemned Israel’s airstrikes on Iran and urged restraint and dialogue to prevent regional instability.

Oman, known for its mediating role between Iran and Western countries, criticized Israel’s attack on Iran as fueling the cycle of violence and undermining de-escalation efforts.

It urged the international community to intervene and put an end to such blatant violations on the territories of neighboring countries.

 

 

Kuwait’s foreign ministry also expressed condemnation and accused Israel of “endangering the security of the region”.

Lebanon’s Foreign Ministry described the strikes as a violation of Iranian sovereignty and a serious threat to regional and international peace and security.

Bahrain’s foreign ministry condemned military action against Iran, urging an immediate ceasefire to protect civilians and reduce regional tensions. 

Meanwhile, Jordan stated that no military planes were allowed to cross its airspace by any conflicting regional parties, citing an armed force source.

Expressing solidarity with Iran, the Syrian foreign ministry supported “Iran’s legitimate right to defend itself and protect its territory and the lives of its citizens.”

The Egyptian foreign ministry expressed grave concern over the Israeli attack on Iran, condemning all measures that jeopardize regional security and stability.

On Saturday morning, Israel launched strikes on military sites in Iran in response to Tehran’s attacks on Israel earlier in the month, raising fears of a broader conflict in the Middle East.
