Saudi Aid Agency KSrelief Partners with UNHCR to Provide Shelter Assistance in Ukraine
In a groundbreaking move, the Saudi aid agency KSrelief has sealed a collaboration agreement exceeding a whopping $10.4 million with the UN High Commissioner for Refugees. This partnership aims to deliver crucial shelter assistance to internally displaced individuals grappling with the humanitarian crisis in Ukraine.
Under this initiative, the substantial funding will be allocated towards procuring 11,000 shelter kits, 2,400 rapid heating kits, and an assortment of vital building materials to fortify homes against the harsh winter conditions. The impact of this aid is projected to reach nearly 49,000 individuals in need.
The formal signing of the agreement took place at KSrelief’s headquarters in Riyadh, with Ahmed bin Ali Al-Baiz, the agency’s assistant supervisor for operations and programs, and Kelly Clements, UNHCR’s deputy high commissioner, sealing the deal. Notably, Abdullah Al-Rabeeah, the head of KSrelief and an esteemed advisor at the Royal Court, was also in attendance to witness this significant partnership.
This collaboration underscores the Kingdom’s unwavering commitment to extending humanitarian aid to displaced populations and refugees worldwide, further solidifying its role as a beacon of hope and support in times of crisis.
