Christian Beyer, manager of international events at NurnbergMesse, emphasized the Middle East and North Africa region’s potential, particularly in Saudi Arabia, as an emerging market for organic food with estimated growth reaching USD 7 billion in 2022.

Recognizing the significance of organic farming for food security and environmental sustainability, Saudi authorities are prioritizing rural production enhancement and supply chain improvements to ensure efficient delivery of organic products to consumers.

Organic Solutions for Agricultural Enhancement

One of the exhibitors, Saudi company Aamal Al-Andalus, showcased organic fertilizers to combat soil degradation and declining fertility, aiming to increase agricultural production, enhance crop quality, and boost export opportunities.

Shift Towards Organic for Health Benefits

Youssif Abdulqader, sales manager and engineer at Aamal Al-Andalus, highlighted the global trend towards organic food production, emphasizing the health benefits of consuming products sourced from organic and safe origins.

Concerns Over Conventional Farming Practices

Abdulqader raised concerns over conventional farming methods, citing issues such as excessive pesticide use leading to chemical residues in plants that pose health risks, including cancer, kidney failure, and liver diseases.
