The Grand Mufti of Saudi Arabia Meets with Pakistan’s Senate Chairperson
In a prestigious gathering at the presidential headquarters in Riyadh, Sheikh Abdulaziz Al-Sheikh welcomed Yusuf Raza Gilani, chairperson of Pakistan’s senate, along with a delegation from the Pakistani parliament.
The meeting, filled with discussions on the strong brotherly Islamic relations between Saudi Arabia and Pakistan, showcased the important role of the Council of Senior Scholars in the Kingdom. Sheikh Abdulaziz Al-Sheikh, who heads the council, emphasized its efforts in issuing over 30,000 fatwas and 200 rulings to guide Muslims on Shariah matters.
Highlighting the council’s mission to promote moderation and combat extremism, Sheikh Abdulaziz Al-Sheikh praised the continuous dedication of King Salman and Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman in serving the Two Holy Mosques in Makkah and Madinah.
Expressing his delight in visiting Saudi Arabia, Yusuf Raza Gilani acknowledged the significant leadership role of the Kingdom and the strong ties it shares with Pakistan on various fronts.
The meeting was graced by the presence of Sheikh Fahd Al-Majed, the secretary-general of the Council of Senior Scholars, and Abdulrahman Al-Harbi, a member of the Shoura Council.
