Saudi Arabia’s Red Sea International Film Festival Wraps Up with Glitz and Glamour

The closing red carpet event and Yusr Awards ceremony of Saudi Arabia’s Red Sea International Film Festival took place on Thursday night, attracting stars from Hollywood, Bollywood, and beyond.

Hollywood’s Sarah Jessica Parker graced the red carpet, alongside British actor Dev Patel, British actor John Boyega, and Brazilian model Alessandra Ambrosio, among others.

Priyanka Chopra Jonas and Nick Jonas were also in attendance, posing for photographs alongside Mexican actress Eiza González.

Academy Award-winning filmmaker Spike Lee led the features competition jury this year, with Viola Davis and Chopra-Jonas being honored at the closing event.

Lee expressed his admiration for the festival’s international selection of films, highlighting the importance of showcasing diverse stories and cultures through cinema.

As the Yusr Awards ceremony unfolded, winners were announced, with “Red Path” winning the Golden Yusr Best Feature Film Award, and Mahmoud Bakri and Mariam Sherif taking home the Best Actor and Best Actress awards, respectively.

The festival, themed “The New Home of Film,” showcased 120 films from 81 countries at its new venue in Al-Balad, Jeddah, with special panels featuring leading Hollywood and Bollywood stars.

With talks and screenings captivating audiences, the festival also featured a special screening of Johnny Depp’s film “Modi: Three Days on the Wing of Madness,” adding to the star-studded lineup of events.
