As the holy month of Ramadan approaches, special emergency services have been established to assist visitors at the Grand Mosque in Makkah, according to reports from the Saudi Press Agency.
State-of-the-Art Ambulance Centers Set Up
Dr. Mustafa Baljoun, the Director of the Saudi Red Crescent Authority’s Makkah branch, announced the setup of over 35 ambulance centers, including six at the Grand Mosque. These centers consist of 21 internal and eight external facilities, equipped with the latest medical technology.
Efficient Transportation within the Mosque
To ensure efficient transport within the Grand Mosque courtyards, seven crisis management vehicles, 150 bicycles, scooters, 10 motorcycles, and 14 golf carts will be provided by the authority. Additionally, 900 volunteers will be on hand to assist visitors.
Focus on Prompt Medical Intervention
The primary focus of the emergency services plan is to address critical cases during religious rituals by providing immediate medical assistance and swift transport to the nearest health facility at the Grand Mosque. During the final 10 days of Ramadan, services will be intensified in areas with a high density of worshippers.
