Riyadh Forum: Cybersecurity Experts Uncover Top Threats!

Riyadh Set to Host Global Cybersecurity Forum to Address Critical Digital Issues

Top decision-makers and entities will converge in Riyadh for the fourth edition of the Global Cybersecurity Forum to tackle pivotal issues in the digital realm this October.

Organized under the patronage of King Salman by the National Cybersecurity Authority, the event on Oct. 2 and 3 will revolve around the theme “Advancing Collective Action in Cyberspace.”

The primary goal is to strengthen international cooperation on crucial digital matters, drawing in top-tier participants and leading global entities within the cybersecurity sector.

Building upon the foundations and objectives set in previous editions, this year’s forum aims to enhance international cooperation in cybersecurity, driving economic and social progress in this field, as reported by the Saudi Press Agency.

The conference will feature a series of dialogue sessions focusing on key areas such as addressing cyber disparities, understanding online behavior, and social dynamics in the digital world to promote integration.

A key topic of discussion will be bridging social gaps between communities, organizations, and nations.

Furthermore, discussions will delve into the cyber economy, exploring its potential to stimulate development by nurturing markets within the sector.

Participants will explore strategies for leveraging emerging technologies to drive progress and innovation.

The forum serves as a global platform that brings together decision-makers, government officials, businesses, cybersecurity experts, academics, and non-governmental organizations. It aligns with the strategic goals of the GCF Institute to bolster cybersecurity on a global scale, foster economic and social development, and collaborate with and support relevant international initiatives.

A recent forum held in Geneva, in partnership with Saudi Arabia’s UN Mission, highlighted collaborations in addressing challenges and opportunities in cyberspace.

The event on Jan. 23, organized by the GCF, saw the participation of over 60 diplomats, UN representatives, and NGO officials. They engaged in the GCF Institute’s efforts to promote global dialogue, research, and initiatives related to cyberspace.

In his opening address, Abdulmohsen Majed bin Khothaila, ambassador and permanent representative of Saudi Arabia to the UN, emphasized the GCF as a symbol of the Kingdom’s dedication to enhancing global cybersecurity endeavors.

He underscored that the GCF showcases Saudi Arabia’s commitment to uniting international cybersecurity efforts and advancing initiatives that contribute to peace, prosperity, and positive socio-economic impact worldwide.
