Saudi Red Crescent Authority in Madinah Responds to Thousands of Emergency Calls During Umrah Season
In a bustling start to the Umrah season on March 6, the Saudi Red Crescent Authority in Madinah has been on high alert, responding to a total of 3,762 emergency calls, as reported by the Saudi Press Agency on Monday.
Of those calls, 1,746 individuals required immediate medical attention from SRCA’s ambulance teams and were swiftly transported to various healthcare facilities for further treatment.
Dr. Ahmed Al-Zahrani, the Director General of SRCA’s Madinah Branch, highlighted that the majority of calls were health-related, with a notable number also involving traffic incidents.
During this period, 1,807 dedicated volunteers put in a collective 10,638 hours of service at both the Prophet’s Mosque and Quba Mosque, ensuring the safety and well-being of visitors.
Residents and visitors in Madinah can easily request ambulance services by dialing 997 or utilizing the Asefni app, which allows for quick communication with emergency teams via phone call or text message.
