Riyadh: A New Cultural Landmark in Madinah Unveiled
In a grand ceremony, Prince Salman bin Sultan, Madinah governor and chairman of the Madinah Region Development Authority (MDA), officially opened the Al-Safiyyah Museum & Park. The event was graced by the presence of Prince Saud bin Khalid Al-Faisal, deputy governor of Madinah and deputy chairman of the authority.
A Cultural Oasis in the Heart of Madinah
Spanning over 4,400 square meters, the Al-Safiyyah Museum & Park is located in the southern central area, aiming to enhance the cultural experience of visitors at the Prophet’s Mosque. Prince Salman bin Sultan explored the museum’s facilities, including a cultural garden, waterways, exhibition and museum areas, shops, restaurants, cafes, and recreational services.
Immersive Experience at the Story of Creation Museum
Inside the museum, Prince bin Sultan was treated to an immersive experience at the Story of Creation Museum, which showcases the story of creation from the beginning of the universe through the narratives of prophets and messengers. The museum utilizes audiovisual technologies to engage visitors and displays rare collections.
Enriching Madinah’s Cultural Landscape
During the ceremony, Fahad Albulihshi, CEO of the authority, highlighted the significance of the Al-Safiyyah Museum & Park in enriching the cultural and knowledge experience of visitors to the Prophet’s Mosque. The project aligns with Saudi Vision 2030 goals and showcases the commitment of the Saudi government to serving the holy mosques and their visitors.
A New Landmark for Madinah
Albulihshi emphasized that the museum represents a new source of civilization and knowledge in Madinah, developed in partnership with the private sector. The project aims to enhance the visitor experience with cultural, recreational, and commercial elements, reflecting Madinah’s urban identity.
Preserving Islamic Heritage
As a part of the region’s development efforts, the Al-Safiyyah Museum & Park aims to enrich and deepen the cultural and religious experience of visitors to the Prophet’s Mosque. The project focuses on rehabilitating and activating Islamic history sites, providing exceptional services, and enhancing their historical and cultural value in alignment with Saudi Vision 2030 objectives.
