Haramain High Speed Railway Plans to Operate Over 2,700 Trips During Ramadan

Get ready for an exciting ride on the Haramain High Speed Railway as they gear up to operate more than 2,700 trips during the holy month of Ramadan. With a seating capacity exceeding 1.3 million passengers, the railway is set to meet the increasing demand for transportation between Makkah and Madinah.

Efficient Operations to Cater to Large Demand

Saudi Arabia Railways, in coordination with the operating company, has put together a plan to ensure smooth operations and facilitate the expected high demand during the Ramadan season. The high-speed train, reaching speeds of 300 kph, will cover a distance of 449 km between the two holy cities in just two hours and 20 minutes.

State-of-the-Art Technology and Growth

The Haramain High Speed Railway is among the top 10 fastest electric trains globally, equipped with advanced signaling and communications systems. It plays a crucial role in the development plan and expansion program within the Saudi railway network, meeting the growing demand to serve the increasing number of pilgrims and reducing congestion on the roads.

Convenient Stations and Facilities

With five stations along the route, including terminals in Makkah, Madinah, and King Abdulaziz Airport in Jeddah, the railway offers convenience and ease of travel. The King Abdulaziz Airport station is the largest airport-linked train station globally, covering over 105,000 square meters and connected to six train platforms.

Comfortable Travel Experience

The Haramain High Speed Railway operates 35 electric trains, each with a capacity of 417 passengers in 13 cars and five business-class compartments. With amenities like a cafeteria and eight economy-class cabins, passengers can enjoy a comfortable journey with a total of 113 business-class seats and 304 economy-class seats.
