Saudi Development Program Launches Projects in Marib Governorate
Riyadh: In a bid to enhance medical care and education in Yemen, the Saudi Development and Reconstruction Program for Yemen (SDRPY) has recently unveiled a series of projects in the governorate of Marib, as reported by the Saudi Press Agency on Wednesday.
Under the Patronage of Maj. Gen. Sultan bin Ali Al-Arada
The launch of these new initiatives was held under the patronage of Maj. Gen. Sultan bin Ali Al-Arada, a member of the Presidential Leadership Council and the governor of Marib.
Improving Medical Facilities and Educational Institutions
The projects include the enhancement and rehabilitation of the radiology and MRI department at the Marib General Authority Hospital, the second phase of the development and expansion project for the University of Saba Region, and the reinforcement of emergency and critical medical services in Marib.
Introduction of MRI Scanner in Marib
The MRI scanner provided by SDRPY will be the first of its kind in Marib and only the third in Yemen, marking a significant milestone in improving healthcare facilities in the region.
Expansion of University Facilities
The first phase of the University of Saba Region project involved constructing a building with 16 classrooms and an administrative office, while the second phase will focus on providing accommodation for students and faculty members.
Boosting Emergency Medical Services
SDRPY, in collaboration with the Saudi Red Crescent Authority, will supply six fully equipped ambulances to enhance emergency medical services in Marib, thereby increasing the capacity of hospitals and medical centers in the region.
Supporting the Health Sector in Marib
SDRPY has also contributed to the health sector in Marib by providing medical devices to various hospitals, including Kara General Hospital, September 26th Hospital, and Marib General Authority Hospital. Additionally, three fully equipped ambulances have been provided to improve access to medical services.
Part of a Larger Development Initiative
These projects are part of a larger effort by SDRPY, consisting of 34 development projects across different governorates in Yemen, aimed at fostering growth and progress in the region.
