Riyadh Airports Lead in Resolving Passenger Complaints
In a recent report by the General Authority of Civil Aviation (GACA), it was revealed that ten out of the 11 airports in Saudi Arabia successfully resolved passenger complaints in February. This highlights the commitment of Saudi airports to providing top-notch service to travelers.
Top Performers Among International Terminals
King Khalid International Airport, with over 6 million passengers annually, stood out as a leader among international terminals with only 20 complaints in February. This translates to a mere 1 percent per 100,000 flyers, with a 100 percent resolution rate.
Prince Mohammed International Airport and King Fahad International Airport also performed well, each receiving a low number of complaints and resolving them all promptly.
Challenges Faced by King Abdulaziz International Airport
King Abdulaziz International Airport faced the most grievances last month, with 32 recorded complaints. However, the airport successfully resolved 97 percent of these issues in a timely manner.
Exemplary Performance of Prince Sultan International Airport
Prince Sultan International Airport, catering to less than 6 million passengers annually, received only two complaints in February. This outstanding performance matched that of King Khalid International Airport, showcasing their dedication to passenger satisfaction.
Efficient Resolution Across Various Airports
Other airports, including Taif International Airport, Abha International Airport, King Abdullah International Airport, and Al Jouf Airport, also managed to swiftly resolve the complaints they received.
Improving Passenger Experience
GACA noted that common passenger grievances included issues with boarding procedures, employee conduct, and services for individuals with disabilities or limited mobility. To address these concerns, GACA has developed guidelines for handling complaints and conducts regular workshops to train airline and airport staff.
Enhancing Saudi Aviation Industry
Saudi Arabia has made significant investments in its aviation industry, resulting in improved infrastructure and connectivity. Riyadh Air has seen a remarkable recovery, with King Khalid International Airport experiencing a 75 percent increase in 2022. This has contributed to Saudi air connectivity surging to 13th place in 2023, with routes established to over 131 destinations worldwide.
