Breaking News: Saudi consultancy sector localization plan ramps up in 2nd phase!

Saudi Consulting Sector Localisation Plan Enters Second Phase

In a move set to boost the presence of Saudi consultants and project managers, the Kingdom’s consulting sector is gearing up for the second phase of the localization plan. This comes after the Ministry of Human Resources and Social Development’s decision in 2022 to ramp up Saudization efforts in professions like financial, business, and cybersecurity consulting, as well as project management roles.

The initial phase, targeting the localization of 35 percent of these professions, was successfully implemented on March 4, 2023. Now, the ministry has announced the kick-off of the second phase, aiming to localize 40 percent of consulting services professions starting from March 25.

With a focus on providing more motivated and productive employment opportunities for Saudi citizens, the ministry is committed to closely monitoring and implementing the second phase. This collaborative effort will involve key entities such as the Ministry of Finance, the Local Content and Government Procurement Authority, the Government Expenditure and Projects Efficiency Authority, and the Human Resources Development Fund.

Private sector establishments are encouraged to take advantage of the comprehensive incentives and support programs offered by the ministry to facilitate the hiring of Saudis. These programs cover recruitment, candidate search, necessary training, and ongoing support for job retention.

In line with its Vision 2030 goals, Saudi Arabia is not only promoting the recruitment of nationals in private sector jobs but also advocating for investing in their future. This investment aims to ensure their retention by employers and their contribution to a vibrant and diverse economy.
