Riyadh Unveils 2024 Digital Transformation Index

In a bold move to enhance e-government services and drive digital innovation, Saudi Arabia has launched the latest edition of the Digital Transformation Index for 2024.

The goal of this framework is to elevate the public sector’s commitment to technological evolution and improve the quality of e-government services, positioning the Kingdom as a global leader in this field.

The unveiling of the 2024 index took place during a virtual workshop organized by the Saudi Digital Government Authority, bringing together over 2,000 specialists from 233 government entities.

Key topics discussed at the workshop included refining measurement methodologies, significant revisions to the Digital Transformation Core Criteria document, sharing success stories from DTI 2023, and outlining the roadmap for the ongoing cycle.

With 96 standards, the 2024 index has undergone revisions from the previous year’s version which featured 125 standards.

Government entities have shown significant progress in previous editions of the index, with a collective progress rate of 85.53 percent in 2023 and 80.96 percent in 2022.

Ahmed Mohammed Al-Suwaiyan, governor and board member of the Digital Government Authority, emphasized the importance of the DTI in Saudi Arabia’s technological empowerment journey, aligning with the objectives outlined in Vision 2030.

The DTI aims to drive digitization, enhance e-governance, and improve the performance of government entities, ultimately accelerating the pace of digitalization in the Kingdom and improving beneficiary satisfaction.

In addition to the DTI, Saudi Arabia has been actively pursuing innovative initiatives to modernize its infrastructure and enhance its technological capabilities, including the inauguration of the Industrial Artificial Intelligence Academy in partnership with the Saudi Data and Artificial Intelligence Authority and NVIDIA.

Saudi Arabia’s commitment to digital excellence is evident in its ranking as first in the Government Electronic and Mobile Services Maturity Index for 2023, with a high maturity score of 93 percent, showcasing significant progress in key government services offered online.

With a focus on cultivating skilled national talents in industrial AI, Saudi Arabia aims to revolutionize intelligent environments and processes, positioning itself as a global leader in digital administration.
