Saudi Arabia Launches Madarik Program to Empower National Capabilities in Space Sector

Riyadh: The Communications, Space and Technology Commission of Saudi Arabia has unveiled the Madarik program, a groundbreaking initiative aimed at empowering and developing national capabilities in the space sector.

The program, scheduled to run from May 5 to Aug. 15 in partnership with leading international institutions, seeks to pave the way for a sustainable future in the sector. By leveraging the expertise of global partners, the program aims to create professional pathways for Saudi citizens, setting the stage for their involvement in the nation’s space industry.

Collaboration with Global Institutions

The commission revealed that the program has been developed in collaboration with esteemed institutions such as the International Space University in France, the Georgia Institute of Technology, the Thunderbird School of Global Management in Arizona, and BAE Systems Saudi Development and Training. Al-Yamama University in Riyadh also joins as an educational partner.

While in-person courses will be held in Riyadh and Jeddah, participants from all regions of Saudi Arabia will have the opportunity to attend virtually.

Specialized Tracks for Participants

Recent graduates and professionals selected for the Madarik program will be assigned to one of three specialized tracks. The Space Business Development track caters to individuals with backgrounds in strategy, business administration, economics, and law.

For those with expertise in computer science, data science, data engineering, and cybersecurity, the Space Data and Software track offers a unique learning experience. The Space Engineering track is designed for individuals with qualifications in engineering disciplines.

Interested applicants must be Saudi nationals holding a minimum of a bachelor’s degree in a relevant field, proficient in English, and must meet all registration requirements set by the commission.
