Saudi Arabia Stands Behind UN Call for Gaza Ceasefire
During a recent Cabinet meeting in Jeddah, Saudi Arabia reaffirmed its support for the UN Security Council resolution urging an immediate ceasefire in Gaza for the duration of Ramadan. This comes after the US abstained from vetoing the resolution, allowing it to pass with a rare round of applause in the council chamber.
The Kingdom, along with its regional and international partners, is working diligently to address the worsening humanitarian situation in Gaza. Locally, efforts are being made to provide housing for needy families through initiatives like the Jood Eskan charity housing campaign.
King Salman and Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman have made generous donations to the campaign, demonstrating their commitment to supporting those in need. Additionally, the annual Saudi Green Initiative Day on March 27th highlights the Kingdom’s dedication to environmental issues and climate action on a global scale.
