Discover Saudi Green Initiative in Makkah – Transforming City with Sustainable Development and Afforestation

Riyadh: State Properties General Authority Supports Green Initiative Day

In a remarkable display of commitment to sustainable development, the State Properties General Authority has provided the Ministry of Environment, Water and Agriculture, and the Alahyaa Centers Association with seedlings from its agricultural nursery in Makkah.

This noble gesture took place on Saudi Green Initiative Day on March 27, showcasing the authority’s dedication to afforestation and upgrading vegetation cover.

The authority’s efforts include the establishment and operation of an advanced agricultural nursery equipped with state-of-the-art systems to boost production capacity and foster a conducive environment for plant growth.

Thanks to this initiative, 110,000 square meters of green spaces have been created within the authority’s government compounds in Makkah, with plants, large trees, and shrubs distributed to over 40 government entities.

The nursery’s annual production boasts an impressive array of flora, including 1.2 million plants that bloom in both winter and summer, 200,000 perennials and vines, 20,000 outdoor trees, 30,000 shrubs, and 5,000 indoor plants.
