Saudi Arabia and Japan Meet to Ease Tensions in the Middle East

In a diplomatic effort to address recent developments in the Middle East region, Ambassador Dr. Saud Al-Sati, Saudi Arabia’s deputy minister for political affairs, held a meeting with Japan’s Special Envoy for Peace in the Middle East, Uemura Tsukasa.

During the meeting, the officials discussed strategies to cooperate and help ease tensions in the area.

Uemura’s visit is part of Japan’s proactive approach to de-escalate the situation surrounding Israel and Palestine and improve the humanitarian conditions in the Gaza Strip, as stated by the Japanese Foreign Ministry.

Having already visited Jordan and Saudi Arabia, the envoy is set to continue his diplomatic tour with talks scheduled in the UAE and Qatar.
