Simi and Haze Khadra Celebrate Birthday with Call for Donations to Gaza

DUBAI: US Palestinian beauty moguls Simi and Haze Khadra had a birthday celebration that was more than just a party. The twins, known for their glamorous appearances alongside celebrities like Kylie and Kendall Jenner and The Weeknd, used their special day as an opportunity to make a difference.

Taking to Instagram, the dynamic duo expressed gratitude for the birthday wishes they received from fans. But instead of asking for gifts, they made a heartfelt plea for donations to support a cause close to their hearts.

“All we want for our (birthday) is for you to help us build a NICU for the babies in Rafah,” the sisters posted, showing their commitment to giving back to the community.

Their cause? The twins are championing the establishment of a Neonatal Intensive Care Unit (NICU) in Rafah, Gaza. The region is in desperate need of medical support, especially for premature babies, due to the ongoing blockade by Israel.

With hospitals overwhelmed and supplies running low, newborns are forced to share incubators, highlighting the urgent need for a dedicated NICU. To address this critical situation, Simi and Haze have partnered with the US-based nonprofit organization Heal Palestine to make a difference.

The sisters explained, “@heal.palestine is actively working on building a new NICU in Rafah while supporting the only other existing NICU at the Emirati Hospital by providing medication and all the other supplies to help give premature babies the care they need.”

Despite challenges posed by the blockade, the sisters emphasized the importance of the NICU project and the vital role it plays in saving lives. They highlighted the efforts of doctors who bring in essential supplies through the border to ensure that medical aid reaches those in need.

Simi and Haze called on their followers to contribute to the cause, urging everyone to join them in raising funds for the NICU project in Gaza.

This isn’t the first time the entrepreneurial duo has shown their support for Gaza. In 2021, they collaborated with the Palestinian Children’s Relief Fund (PCRF) to bring solar power to central Gaza, benefitting families with chronically ill children who rely on electricity for medical equipment.

Aside from their philanthropic endeavors, the sisters have also made waves in the beauty industry. They launched their own beauty brand, SimiHaze Beauty, in 2021 and hinted at an upcoming partnership with Sephora, hinting at exciting developments in the world of beauty.

With a passion for giving back and a flair for entrepreneurship, Simi and Haze Khadra continue to make a positive impact in Gaza and beyond, using their platform to raise awareness and support causes that matter.
