Alert: Saudi Arabia Faces Severe Weather with Torrential Rain and High Winds – Civil Defense Issues Warning!

Riyadh Civil Defense Urges Caution During Thunderstorms

In a recent statement, the General Directorate of Civil Defense in Riyadh has issued a strong warning to citizens and residents to be extra cautious during thunderstorms. They are advised to prioritize their safety by avoiding areas prone to torrents, marshes, and valleys.

Swimming in these areas is highly discouraged as they are deemed unsuitable and pose a significant danger. The directorate emphasized the importance of strictly following instructions provided through various media and social network platforms.

The warning comes as thunderstorms are expected to persist in some regions of the Kingdom until Friday, as reported by the Saudi Press Agency.

Specifically, the Makkah region is forecasted to experience moderate to heavy rainfall, leading to torrential rains, hail, and strong winds that may result in dust storms affecting several governorates.

Meanwhile, Makkah city and its surrounding areas are expected to receive light to moderate rainfall, according to SPA.

In the Riyadh region, the Civil Defense has predicted light to moderate rainfall and gusty winds that could cause dust to rise. These weather conditions will also impact various governorates in the area.

As for the Asir, Baha, and Jazan regions, moderate to heavy rainfall is anticipated, while the Madinah and Najran regions are expected to receive moderate rainfall.
