Andrew Garfield Takes a Stand for Palestinians
In a clip that spread like wildfire over the weekend, Hollywood actor Andrew Garfield made a bold statement in support of Palestinians on Josh Horowitz’s “Happy Sad Confused” podcast.
Garfield, currently in the spotlight for his romantic drama “We Live in Time” alongside Florence Pugh, engaged in a deep conversation with Horowitz at New York’s 92nd Street Y.
During the podcast interview on Thursday, Horowitz asked Garfield if he had any personal desires.
In a powerful response, Garfield redirected the focus to the plight of Palestinians in Gaza, emphasizing that his own happiness pales in comparison.
“I am content and fulfilled in my own life,” Garfield expressed. “It is crucial that we direct our attention towards issues that truly matter, such as the suffering of Palestinians in Gaza. Let’s channel our hearts and efforts towards them.”
Continuing his impassioned plea, the actor declared, “We must stand in solidarity with all who are oppressed and enduring the atrocities of our world. Our priority should be on those who are stripped of their dignity and basic rights.”
With his vocal support for Palestine, Garfield aligns himself with a growing list of celebrities who have condemned Israel’s ongoing attacks in Gaza, including Palestinian American supermodels Bella and Gigi Hadid, Marvel star Mark Ruffalo, “Bridgerton” sensation Nicola Coughlan, and “Wednesday” actress Jenna Ortega.
