Annie Lennox Urges Immediate Gaza Ceasefire – Must See!

Annie Lennox Calls for Immediate Ceasefire in Gaza

Scottish singer Annie Lennox has once again urged for a humanitarian ceasefire in Gaza, emphasizing the devastating impact of the conflict on the Palestinian people.

Speaking at the US National Library in Washington before the Gershwin Prize for Popular Song event, Lennox expressed her concerns to The Independent, describing the situation in Gaza as “heartbreaking.”

Donning a red pin adorned with a gold hand, Lennox proudly shared her support for Artists for Peace, a community of creative individuals advocating for peace and a permanent ceasefire.

Addressing Israel’s military campaign in Gaza, Lennox stated, “The world is witnessing this with horror. This pin symbolizes a call for peace for everyone, urging for a sensible resolution to the conflict.”

With an estimated 32,000 Palestinians, including many women and children, reported as casualties by Gaza’s health authorities, the region is also at risk of famine due to a severe shortage of humanitarian aid, as highlighted by the UN.

Lennox had previously used her platform to speak out against the conflict while performing at a memorial concert for the late Irish singer Sinead O’Connor. At the conclusion of her performance, Lennox raised her fist and passionately declared, “Artists for ceasefire! Peace in the world!”
