JEDDAH Ministry Hosts Social Responsibility Forum to Serve Pilgrims
In a bid to promote social responsibility and enhance services for pilgrims, the Ministry of Human Resources and Social Development branch in Makkah organized a forum on May 26 with the theme, “Social Responsibility to Serve the Pilgrims.”
Dialogue Sessions and Workshops
The forum featured dialogue sessions covering various topics such as developing a social responsibility strategy, introducing programs to assist visitors to the Holy Mosques, discussing social responsibility in the private sector, and showcasing the Sustainable Camp Initiative. Kholoud Al Thagafi from King Abdulaziz University highlighted the importance of prioritizing contributions and overcoming obstacles in the private sector.
Development workshops were also conducted to cultivate a culture of social responsibility and foster innovative initiatives geared towards societal advancement. An exhibition showcased best practices in social responsibility and highlighted efforts to cater to the needs of pilgrims.
Partnerships for Social Responsibility Initiatives
During the forum, the Ministry signed cooperation agreements with key entities in the private sector, including the General Administration of Social Responsibility and Voluntary Work at the Ministry of Hajj and Umrah, the Royal Commission for Makkah City and Holy Sites, and other organizations. These partnerships aim to bolster social responsibility initiatives in various sectors and contribute to the objectives of Saudi Arabia’s Vision 2030.
Ritz-Carlton’s Commitment to Social Responsibility
Abdulrahman Alrefaie, assistant director of human resources at the Ritz-Carlton, expressed dedication to making a positive impact on society through the partnership with the ministry. He emphasized the importance of aligning initiatives with national goals and promoting sustainable practices within the hotel and the community.
Alrefaie hopes to inspire other businesses and organizations to embrace social responsibility, creating a ripple effect of positive change throughout Saudi Arabia. The partnership signifies a joint effort to pave the way for a brighter, more inclusive future through valuable collaborations.
