Jeddah Historic District Program and Cruise Saudi Partner to Boost Tourism
In a groundbreaking move, the Jeddah Historic District Program and Cruise Saudi have joined forces to attract more international cruise visitors to the city, all while preserving its rich cultural and historical heritage.
Aim to Promote Cultural Center
Established in 2018 under the Ministry of Culture, the Jeddah Historic District Program focuses on various initiatives within the Historic Jeddah region to promote it as a cultural hub.
Driving Economic Growth
Cruise Saudi, owned by the Public Investment Fund, manages cruise-related services and infrastructure, playing a key role in the development of terminals and operation of shore excursions. Since its inception, Cruise Saudi has welcomed over 300,000 cruise passengers.
Memorandum of Understanding
The two entities have signed a memorandum of understanding to boost economic activity and promote the region, utilizing private sector expertise to enhance the visitor experience. This collaboration is expected to create jobs, support small businesses, and foster long-term economic activities benefiting the entire community.

Abdulaziz bin Ibrahim Al-Issa, director general of the Jeddah Historic District Program, emphasized the importance of preserving the district’s tangible and intangible heritage, which led to its UNESCO status.
