Saudi Arabia Joins International Transport Forum in Leipzig

In a momentous event held in Leipzig, Germany, Saudi Arabia has officially secured membership in the prestigious International Transport Forum.

Minister of Transport and Logistics Saleh bin Nasser Al-Jasser expressed the Kingdom’s dedication to tackling transportation challenges with forward-thinking and sustainable solutions. He emphasized Saudi Arabia’s crucial role in advancing the transport and logistics sector, aligning with the ambitious goals of Saudi Vision 2030 to establish the country as a global logistics hub.

Al-Jasser proudly announced that Saudi Arabia has made remarkable progress in logistics, climbing 17 spots to rank 38th globally in the logistics services performance index. The Kingdom also achieved impressive rankings of 13th in the IATA’s international air connectivity index and 16th in the maritime navigation network connectivity index. Furthermore, the launch of Riyadh Air, a new air carrier connecting the Kingdom to over 250 international destinations, signifies Saudi Arabia’s commitment to enhancing connectivity.

With a focus on enhancing the resilience of its transport infrastructure and promoting sustainable mobility, Saudi Arabia aims to ensure equitable access to transport services for all citizens, Al-Jasser stated.

The minister highlighted that Saudi Arabia’s membership in the ITF underscores its influential position in the global transport sector. Through this membership, the Kingdom will actively contribute to shaping legislation and regulations that enhance transportation standards on a global scale.
