Breaking News: Saudi Arabia Joins Prestigious Seoul Accord!

Saudi Arabia Achieves Full Membership in Seoul Accord

In a significant milestone for academic accreditation, the Education and Training Evaluation Commission (ETEC) in Saudi Arabia, represented by the National Center for Academic Accreditation and Evaluation, has secured full membership in the prestigious Seoul Accord. This achievement comes after a final visit by the accord’s secretariat, as reported by the SPA on Tuesday.

International Recognition for Computer and Information Technology Certificates

The Seoul Accord serves as a global benchmark for the accreditation and recognition of computer and information technology certificates in higher education. It sets forth specific guidelines and requirements for graduate specifications with the goal of enhancing outcome-based education.

Enhancing Learning Capabilities and Global Mobility

By joining the Seoul Accord, ETEC aims to enhance learning capabilities, facilitate the mobility of graduates among member countries, and create employment opportunities for graduates from nationally accredited academic institutions in the field of computer science and information technology worldwide.

Building Relationships and Localizing Best Practices

Additionally, the accord helps in developing relationships with global quality assurance agencies and networks while also localizing the best international accreditation practices among member countries. This aligns with ETEC’s goal of establishing itself as an international model in accrediting computer programs and information technology in higher education.

Official Recognition by Member States

Accreditation issued by ETEC will now be officially recognized by member states of the Seoul Accord, including countries such as the US, UK, Canada, Australia, Japan, South Korea, Taiwan, Hong Kong, and Mexico.

Saudi Arabia Leading the Way in the Middle East

Saudi Arabia has made history by becoming the first Middle Eastern country to achieve full membership in the Seoul Accord. This move also solidifies the Kingdom’s position as the eighth nation from the G20 to attain full membership, with a total of 13 countries now holding this prestigious status.
