Breaking News: Saudi Authority Makes History with First-Ever ISO AI Certification!

Saudi Authority for Data and Artificial Intelligence Leads the Way in AI Management

In a groundbreaking achievement, the Saudi Authority for Data and Artificial Intelligence (SDAIA) has made history by becoming the first organization worldwide to obtain the International Standards Organization’s 42001:2023 certification for Artificial Intelligence Management Systems. This milestone was reported by the Saudi Press Agency.

The Gold Standard for AIMS

The ISO standard, launched in December of last year, sets the gold standard for Artificial Intelligence Management Systems (AIMS). It offers guidelines for addressing the complex challenges presented by AI, including ethical considerations, transparency, and continuous learning.

Furthermore, the standard outlines a systematic approach to managing risks and opportunities, as well as achieving a harmonious balance between innovation and governance for organizations that integrate AI technologies into their operations.

Paving the Way for Excellence

Abdullah Al-Ghamdi, the president of SDAIA, expressed his pride in achieving this prestigious accreditation, emphasizing that it signifies the authority’s adherence to best practices and standards in AI management. This accomplishment also highlights Saudi Arabia’s growing reputation for excellence in the realm of data and AI.

Al-Ghamdi credited Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman, who serves as the chairman of SDAIA’s board of directors, for his unwavering support. He noted that this support has been instrumental in enabling the organization to establish itself as a national authority on data and AI, overseeing the regulation, development, and management of these technologies to ensure responsible governance and position Saudi Arabia as a global leader in the field.
