Saudi Court Sentences Expatriates to Prison for Copper Theft
In a bold move, a Saudi court has handed down sentences ranging from one to ten years to eight expatriates who were part of a gang involved in a series of copper and electrical cable thefts. The Saudi Press Agency broke the news on Sunday, revealing the shocking details of the criminal operation.
According to the Saudi Arabia’s Public Prosecution Office, the gang meticulously planned and executed their thefts, stealing electrical cables and stashing them away in a rented hideout with intentions of selling the stolen goods for profit.
In addition to their prison terms, the group has been ordered to compensate for the damages caused by their criminal activities. Once their sentences are served, they will face deportation as part of the consequences for their actions.
