Breaking: Saudi Foreign Minister’s Surprise Arrival at Russia for BRICS Summit

Saudi Foreign Minister Prince Faisal bin Farhan Arrives in Russia for BRICS Meeting

In a strategic move, Saudi Foreign Minister Prince Faisal bin Farhan has landed in Russia to participate in the upcoming Brazil, Russia, India, China and South Africa (BRICS) bloc ministerial meeting set to take place on Tuesday.

Invited by his Russian counterpart, Sergey Lavrov, Prince Faisal will lead the Saudi delegation at the event held in Nizhny Novgorod.

The agenda for Prince Faisal’s visit includes discussions with BRICS countries on various issues and priorities of mutual interest, as well as addressing current global challenges and developments on the international stage. Additionally, he is scheduled to conduct several bilateral meetings during the sidelines of the main event, as per reports from the Saudi Press Agency.

Although the Kingdom received an invitation to join the bloc in 2023, it has not yet become a formal member.

Ahead of the official meeting, Prince Faisal engaged in talks with Lavrov and also met with Yvan Eduardo Gil Pinto from Venezuela on Monday to lay the groundwork for fruitful discussions and potential collaborations.
