Breaking: Saudi Supreme Court Urges Muslims to Spot Shawwal Crescent Today!

Saudi Supreme Court Calls on Muslims to Sight Shawwal Crescent Moon

In a call to all Muslims in Saudi Arabia, the Supreme Court has urged the sighting of the new crescent moon marking the end of Ramadan and the beginning of the month of Shawwal on Monday, April 8.

This announcement signifies the conclusion of the holy fasting month and the commencement of Eid Al-Fitr.

Individuals who spot the Shawwal crescent, whether with the naked eye or through telescopes, are encouraged to report their observations to the nearest court and provide a statement. Assistance can also be sought from the nearest center to facilitate the process of reaching the court.

The month of Ramadan commenced in Saudi Arabia and most Arab countries on March 11. Should the moon not be sighted on Monday, Tuesday will be deemed Ramadan 30, with Eid Al-Fitr starting on Wednesday.

Eid Al-Fitr, a jubilant holiday celebrated on the first day of Shawwal, the 10th month of the Islamic calendar, is characterized by family gatherings, lavish feasts, gift-giving, and vibrant festivities.

Each region in the Kingdom has its own unique traditions to mark Eid Al-Fitr, but the common elements include prayers, acts of charity, warm hospitality, delicious food, elegant attire, decorations, and quality time spent with loved ones.
