The Saudi Red Crescent Authority went all out to mark International Red Cross and Crescent Day on Wednesday, with a flurry of events, exhibitions, and conferences held in all its branches across the Kingdom.

The day’s activities included marches on the main roads of different regions and governorates, along with educational lectures and training courses aimed at raising community awareness. Participants also engaged in exhibitions to showcase the crucial role of the Red Crescent in society, especially in humanitarian and relief work.

Emphasizing Humanitarian Principles

The celebration of World Red Crescent and International Red Cross Day serves as a reminder of the importance of upholding the principles of the international movement to uphold human dignity and alleviate the suffering of individuals in times of conflicts, disasters, and crises.

Informative Events and Showcases

In the Eastern Province, the SRCA partnered with Alasala College to organize informative and educational events at the college campus in Dammam. Attendees had the opportunity to witness a display of ambulance vehicles used by the authority, showcasing their capabilities in responding to emergencies across various terrains and conditions. The interactive showcase aimed to raise awareness about the essential services provided by the authority.

Emergency Preparedness and Awareness

The exhibition featured the latest emergency medical equipment and highlighted the emergency hotline number 997. Attendees also benefited from lectures on topics such as risks associated with overcrowding, guidelines for handling emergency situations, and the importance of facilitating unimpeded access for ambulance vehicles.

Highlighting Humanitarian Services

Visitors were introduced to the humanitarian services offered by the authority, volunteering opportunities, training programs, and the Family Links initiative, emphasizing the importance of community involvement in humanitarian efforts.

Health and Educational Activities in Tabuk

In the northwestern province of Tabuk, SRCA general director Nawaf bin Mayah Al-Anazi led the celebrations, with health and educational activities conducted in awareness corners at Tabuk Park Mall. The activities focused on showcasing first aid skills training and their role in reducing injury complications.
