Dave Chappelle Takes the Stage in Abu Dhabi
The renowned US comedian, Dave Chappelle, delivered a riveting performance to a jam-packed audience at Abu Dhabi’s Etihad Arena during Abu Dhabi Comedy Week. But it wasn’t just laughs that filled the air.
Chappelle took a bold stance on the war in Gaza, attributing the conflict to underlying antisemitism in the West. He boldly stated, “If you are in America, the best thing you can do is to make American Jews feel safe, feel loved, and supported so they can know they don’t have to support a country that is committing genocide just to feel safe.”
This isn’t the first time Chappelle has spoken out against the Israeli actions in Gaza and the US support for it. During a show in Boston in October, a member of the audience told him to be quiet, sparking a fiery response from the comedian.
In the heat of the moment, Chappelle declared, “You can’t take tens of billions from my country and go kill innocent women and children and tell me to shut the f— up.” The crowd reacted with chants of “free Palestine,” to which Chappelle emphatically responded, “You are damn right, free Palestine.”
