Day 1 of Tashreeq: Pilgrims hurl stones at Jamarat! 🔥

Hajj Pilgrims Begin Ritual Stoning of the Devil in Mina

In a symbolic act of defiance against evil, Hajj pilgrims in Mina have commenced the ritual stoning of the devil by throwing pebbles at the three stone pillars known as the Jamarat. This significant event took place on the first day of Tashreeq, coinciding with the second day of Eid Al-Adha.

Following in the footsteps of Prophet Muhammad, the pilgrims began the stoning ritual with Jamarat Al-Oula (the small pillar), then proceeded to Jamarat Al-Wusta (the middle pillar), and finally culminated at Jamarat Al-Aqaba (the large pillar), as reported by the Saudi Press Agency.

To ensure a smooth flow of pilgrims and effective crowd management, numerous designated pathways were set up across the various floors of the Jamarat facility. The innovative multilevel structure was strategically engineered to efficiently distribute pilgrims during the ritual throwing.

Additionally, pedestrian bridges have been constructed to connect the Jamarat to the Al-Mashaaer Al-Mugaddassah Metro Line and the surrounding pilgrim camps in Mina. This infrastructure improvement allows for safe and convenient movement for the pilgrims, according to SPA.
