Raging Flash Flood Claims One Life in Saudi Arabia
In a devastating turn of events, a flash flood originating from the mountains of southwestern Saudi Arabia wreaked havoc in Jazan province, resulting in the tragic death of one individual on Saturday, as reported by Al-Ekhbariya.
The scenes captured by the news channel were nothing short of apocalyptic – two vehicles engulfed in the raging floodwaters, one of them crushed under the weight of a collapsed bridge support.
The aftermath of the disaster also left several people injured as the bridge succumbed to the force of nature at a crucial intersection located inland from the city of Jazan.
Despite the grim situation, the National Center for Meteorology issued a stern warning on Saturday, predicting more heavy rainfall to come in Jazan province. Thunderstorms were forecasted to hit the mountains, escalating the already dire circumstances.
