Saudi Arabia Reaffirms Support for Ceasefire in Sudan

In a meeting on Monday, the Saudi deputy foreign minister, Waleed Al-Khuraiji, reiterated the Kingdom’s backing for a ceasefire in Sudan as outlined in the Jeddah Declaration from last year. The meeting took place in Port Sudan with Lieutenant General Abdel Fattah Al-Burhan, the chairman of the Sovereignty Council of Sudan.

During the meeting, Al-Khuraiji emphasized Saudi Arabia’s support for all UN and international efforts striving for peace in Sudan and for humanitarian initiatives aimed at easing the hardships faced by the Sudanese people. He also conveyed the greetings of the Saudi leadership to Al-Burhan, underscoring the Kingdom’s commitment to restoring security and stability in Sudan.
