Since its inception in 2009, KAUST has been dedicated to disseminating and applying scientific knowledge across four strategic areas of global significance: food, water, energy, and the environment. The university offers specialized academic departments and research opportunities spanning a wide range of disciplines, from physical science and engineering to biological and environmental sciences. Key research areas include advanced membranes, clean combustion, chemical catalysis, and solar energy.
Impressive Intellectual Property Portfolio
KAUST boasts an impressive intellectual property portfolio, with 105 registered patents, 578 patents pending registration, and 708 disclosed inventions. This demonstrates the university’s strong commitment to innovation and research.
Fostering Entrepreneurship and Commercialization
