During the High-Level Political Forum on Sustainable Development at UN headquarters in New York, participants were treated to insights from Nava Guerrero, the mayor of Queretaro, Mexico, and Abdulrahman bin Hassan Ibrahim, executive director of data and innovation at MDRA.
Recognition for Sustainable Development Goals Localization
Abdulrahman bin Hassan Ibrahim emphasized Madinah’s role in localizing sustainable development goals and its distinction as one of the first five cities in the global Quality of Life Index initiative. He also commended Saudi Arabia’s efforts in this regard.
Gold Level Achievement for Madinah
Madinah’s dedication to sustainable development was recognized with a gold level award in the SDG Cities program by UN-Habitat. This prestigious accolade positions Madinah as the first Saudi city, the first in the Arab world, and the third globally to receive such recognition.
