Riyadh’s Al-Jurais Leads Saudi Delegation at Cooperative Ministers’ Conference

Acting Deputy Minister of Human Resources and Social Development, Soltan Al-Jurais, is currently at the forefront of the Saudi delegation attending the 11th Asia-Pacific Cooperative Ministers’ Conference in the Dead Sea region of Jordan, running from April 28-30.

In a powerful speech, Al-Jurais emphasized the crucial role of the cooperative sector in driving development and economic growth, particularly in achieving sustainable development goals, as reported by the Saudi Press Agency.

Al-Jurais highlighted Saudi Arabia’s initiatives in economic empowerment, showcasing the country’s commitment to supporting marginalized groups by collaborating with both public and private partners to establish cooperatives that focus on creating job opportunities and boosting production in key sectors.

Furthermore, he shed light on recent Saudi initiatives aimed at propelling the growth of the cooperative sector within the Kingdom.

During the conference, Al-Jurais held a meeting with Ariel Guarco, the president of the International Cooperative Alliance, to discuss the ministry’s significant achievements in the cooperative sector over the years. They delved into topics of mutual interest, stressing the importance of strengthening the partnership between the ministry and the ICA across various fields.

The duo also explored global best practices and shared insights from member countries within the alliance, underscoring the pivotal role of the cooperative sector in driving Saudi Arabia’s economic and social development.
