Madinah Municipality Launches Initiative to Plant Over 300 Trees Near Prophet’s Mosque

In a bid to enhance the central area near the Prophet’s Mosque, Madinah’s municipality has kicked off a groundbreaking initiative that involves volunteers planting over 300 trees.

Dubbed the “Here It Was Planted” plan, this initiative has garnered widespread support from both residents and visitors alike, as reported by the Saudi Press Agency on Wednesday.

Municipality officials have carefully selected the Bougainvillea plant for this project, citing its compatibility with the region’s climate and environmental conditions. Not only is the Bougainvillea known for its heat tolerance, but it is also set to enhance the aesthetic appeal of the area.

By involving visitors to the Prophet’s Mosque in the planting process, the municipality aims to underscore the importance of environmental protection and conservation efforts.

Furthermore, the municipality has outlined plans to further expand green spaces in the holy city, with a focus on parks and other public areas. These initiatives are in line with the overarching goals of the Kingdom’s Quality of Life Program.
