Saudi Arabia Unveils Al-Hisn Big Time Studios in Riyadh
Saudi Arabia has taken a major step in boosting the television and film production industry across the Middle East with the inauguration of Al-Hisn Big Time Studios in Riyadh.
Chairman of the General Entertainment Authority, Turki Al-Sheikh, unveiled the groundbreaking facility located west of the Saudi capital.
Al-Hisn Big Time Studios, constructed in an impressive 120 days, consists of seven studio buildings covering a vast area of 10,500 sq. meters.
The project area spans 300,000 sq. meters and includes a production village with workshops for metalworking and carpentry, as well as costume design facilities.
Offering luxurious VIP suites, film production offices, and fully equipped editing rooms, the studios create an ideal work environment to enhance production efficiency.
Al-Sheikh emphasized the significance of Al-Hisn Big Time Studios in producing both Arab and international content, particularly Saudi productions.
Highlighting the importance of local content consumption, he mentioned that around 65 percent of the content consumed in the region originates from Saudi Arabia.
The collaborative nature of the project was also highlighted by Al-Sheikh, mentioning that productions will take place at various locations including Diriyah Jax, Sony Studios, AlUla, and MBC Studios in Al-Nargis.
Minister of Information, Salman Al-Dossary, hailed the opportunities presented by Al-Hisn Big Time Studios, calling it the best place in the Arab world for film and television production.
With a goal to provide a comprehensive platform for film and television production, the studios offer creative resources in one convenient location.
Visitors to the studios can explore a museum showcasing vintage cameras and films shot with them, as well as costume rooms where fashion designers craft outfits for various productions.
Industry professionals like Nawaf Almutairi, a founding partner of One Shot drone company, expressed enthusiasm about the opportunities at Al-Hisn, stating that the facility allows them to push the boundaries of aerial photography and filmmaking.
Abdulrahman Alnafisah, general manager and co-founder of Nebras Films, highlighted the significant advancements in the media and film production sector in Saudi Arabia, with Nebras Films playing a key role in the launch of Al-Hisn Big Time Studios.
Alnafisah emphasized the commitment of Nebras Films to bolstering the Saudi film industry and nurturing local talent by creating a professional environment that aligns with international standards.
